: If you like Mission Peak but hate the crowds, you need to try this hike 🥾 Vargas Plateau Regional Park is one of the most beautiful hikes in the East Bay with wide open hill views, peaceful trails, and a solid workout. The climb can be steep in some sections, but the views at the top make it worth it. Spring is the best time to go when the hills are green and everything looks like a postcard. There is very little shade, so go early and bring water. 🥾Hike details - Golden Eagle Trail to View Point - Distance: 2.2 miles out and back - Elevation gain about 308 ft - Difficulty: Easy - Time: 1 to 2 hours 🚗 Parking info There is a staging area parking lot at Vargas Plateau Parking is free but the lot is small so it can fill up on weekends. Hello if you are seeing this and not following me yet… I post a lot about Bay Area hikes, scenic spots, aesthetic cafes, and top rated restaurants, so if that sounds like your vibe you might want to follow before your next weekend plan depends on me again. #sfbayarea #bayarea #bayareahiking #fremont #bayareahikes
