I chickened out and didn’t complete the whole loop trail! Reason: I saw an enormous lizard 🦎 crossing my way in the trial. While I love hiking and absolutely love doing that amidst nature, this trail was a bit different. Not many people around ( I just met 2-3 people on my way), Steep slopes and steps, thick bushes and then spotting a giant lizard crossing my way made me chicken out so I decided to retrace my steps back after covering almost 3kms of the trail. So while I did hike for 6kms , I absolutely regret not completing the whole loop. Totally missed the scenic view which this trail has to offer and feeling bummed out already. Have you ever not completed the trail because it was deserted and scary? Or I’m the only chicken here 😅 Also, : Did you know that NSW has its very own Egyptian Sphinx? Sphinx Memorial is a sandstone monument created in memory of lives lost in the First World War and was created by a returned soldier in the 1920s. It stands approximately 1/8th the size of the original and is said to have been carved with the help of photos and a copy of a Baedekers Guide containing the exact dimensions of the Great Sphinx of Giza.
