A surreal hike in Tenerife you shouldn’t miss ⤵️ We didn’t even plan this one… but it ended up being one of our favourite moments on the island. Chinyero Volcano — the last volcano to erupt in Tenerife back in 1909. The trail takes you through black lava fields that feel completely unreal, like you’ve stepped onto another planet. At one point you’re walking through volcanic rock… then suddenly you’re surrounded by pine forests — some of them still blackened from past fires, but still growing. It’s quiet, raw, and so different from anything else we saw on the island. And if you hike a bit higher — the views open up even more. One of those places you don’t expect… but stays with you long after.
