wheresjessieb ā Butter & Crumble

š„ The last one really surprised me š„ But you canāt go wrong with a croissant from any of these bakeries in San Francisco: . @tartinebakery - always a classic and very good *but* (possibly controversial) I donāt think itās the best thing on their menu. I always go for the bread (yes, okay, they make sourdough š), tarts, morning bun, or gougere (a cheesy, savory pastry) instead becauseā¦. @arsicaultbakery - has an even better one. Thereās always have a line but it moves super fast. My go-to is their plain croissant, chocolate, or ham and cheese. The kouign aman is also delicious, but I think the almond and almond chocolate is too much. Pro tip: get a coffee next door at Breckās while you wait. @enjoyjuniper - this Polk street newcomer recently won an award for their Cubano croissant at the Best Croissant San Francisco 2024 competition. Itās a fun twist on the ham and cheese classic. It was very tasty and I love the flavor, but donāt overlook the classic croissant either. They nailed the texture on that oneāso flaky and look at those honeycomb layers. Gorgeous š Not featured but worth a mention is @butter.and.crumble. They make croissants with some really creative flavorsāsadly, I just made the mistake of going too late in the morning and havenāt given them a proper try yet. But follow along and get the full scoop once I do š š Follow @wheresjessieb for more unique travel ideas in California and beyond.
