The Anto-jiru (庵都汁), a mellow soup made with a rich dashi and white miso, had a taste I’d never experienced before—yet somehow felt nostalgic. My seat was by the window, and the view during the meal was beautiful, making for a calm and peaceful dining experience. The staff were also lovely and attentive. I was told that for same-day reservations, only the Fukushige Zen course (福重膳, which means “layers of good fortune”) is available, so that’s what I booked. If you’d like to try other courses, I recommend reserving several days in advance. It seems this course actually required a reservation two days in advance as well. That said, let me repeat—Fukushige Zen was truly delicious, and I’d love to come back to try the other options too.
