Unlike many of Hong Kong’s more developed islands, Tung Lung Chau is famous for its dramatic sea cliffs, military history, and some of the best rock climbing in the region. Things to do and places to visit: 1. 🥾 Hiking the Circular Trail: A 5-7 km loop (roughly 3-4 hours) covers most of the island’s landmarks. 2. 🧗‍♀️ Rock Climbing and Ziplining: Tung Lung Chau is Hong Kong’s premier rock climbing destination. Popular spots like the Technical Wall and Sea Gully Wall offer various routes for different skill levels. 3. 🏕️ Camping: The designated campsite near the Tung Lung Fort is highly popular. It offers a “wilder” feel than most HK sites, with views of the sunrise over the ocean. 4. 📸 Photography at the “White Cliff”: On the southern side of the island, there is a striking section of whitewashed cliff faces that are a favorite for landscape photography. 5. 🏝️ Beach: best for beach camp and swimming too. 6. Lighthouse 7. Caves GETTING THERE: Take the MTR to Sai Wan Ho Station (Exit A) turn right. Walk straight for about 5 minutes towards the seaside, Shau Kei Wan Typhoon Shelter Landing No. 10 (near the Grand Promenade). Ticket cost: 55hkd round trip ticket. Ferry Travel: approximately 30-40 minutes #discoverhongkong #tunglungchau
