Park Origins
The park began with a 100-acre acquisition in 1966 and is named after Bill Baggs, a former editor of The Miami News and advocate for Key Biscayne's preservation.
Seawall Protection
An 8,400-foot long boulder seawall protects the western and southern shores of the park, safeguarding the island's ecosystem.
