Did You Know?
Prehistoric Park
Crystal Palace Park is home to the world's first-ever dinosaur sculptures, created in the 1850s. These Victorian-era models, though not entirely accurate by modern standards, were groundbreaking at the time and continue to fascinate visitors.
Relocation Site
The park takes its name from the magnificent Crystal Palace, a massive glass and iron structure originally built for the Great Exhibition of 1851 in Hyde Park. After the exhibition, the palace was relocated and rebuilt in Sydenham in 1854, becoming the centerpiece of what is now Crystal Palace Park.
Challenging Labyrinth
One of the park's popular attractions is a large, intricate hedge maze, offering a fun and sometimes frustrating challenge for families and individuals alike.
Panoramic Views
Although the Crystal Palace itself was destroyed by fire in 1936, the grand terracing where it once stood remains, offering stunning panoramic views across London.
