Kōdaiji Temple was established in 1606 by Kita-no-Mandokoro, also known as Nene, the widow of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, one of Japan's most important historical figures.
Dedicated To
The temple was built to commemorate and pray for the soul of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Nene's deceased husband.
