Founder's Profession
Sankeien Garden was created by Hara Tomitaro (also known as Hara Sankei), a wealthy silk merchant and art collector, who opened it to the public in 1906.

Tiered Pagoda
One of Sankeien's most iconic features is the three-storied pagoda (Former Tomyoji Pagoda) which was moved from Kyoto and is the oldest pagoda in the Kanto region, dating back to 1457.
