Cross Dimensions
The cross atop the dome of Saint Sava is a massive 12 meters high, 5 meters wide, and weighs 4 tonnes. It was designed by Nebojša Mitrić, a Holocaust survivor, and Branko Pešić.
Temple Opening
The Temple of Saint Sava was officially opened in 2004, though construction began in 1935 and was interrupted by World War II. The final works were completed in 2020.
Iconostasis Weight
The main iconostasis of the temple is made of iron trusses and Carrara marble, weighing a massive 100 tonnes. It will be decorated with mosaic icons.
