Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon was originally built in 1357 AD by King U-Thong, who named it 'Wat Pakaew' and used it to house monks.
Royal Expansion
King Naresuan the Great, a prominent figure in Thai history, commissioned the construction of a large chedi (pagoda) in 1592 AD, leading to the temple's current name, Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon.
Ordination Hall
