This bookstore is a must-visit whenever you find yourself in Ojai. @bartsbooksojai is the largest outdoor bookstore in the world — and a true Ojai icon. Founded in 1964, Bart’s Books started when founder Richard Bartinsdale knocked down the walls of his house so locals could browse books in the open air. Today, it’s a maze of outdoor shelves and quiet reading nooks full of books (used and new).
