Has Southwest Airlines actually getting better? š¤ Here is my honest, unfiltered review. Back in February, I posted a pretty critical carousel calling out @southwestair recent changes and recurring issues. To my surprise, @southwestair reached out and asked if Iād give them another shot. I agreedābut only on the condition that I could share the good and the bad. While the flights were #gifted, these opinions are 100% real and honest. Here is how it actually went: āļø The Good: Honestly, our flights were great. No delays, no gate agents yelling about carry-on bags, plenty of overhead bin space, and a seamless boarding process. Because I hold their top-tier credit card, we secured extra legroom seats 48 hours out and got free checked bags. ā ļø The Bad: Southwest permanently got rid of their standard free checked bags an even bigger bummer for the average traveler budget who may not hold their credit card. They also got rid of family boarding which can be hard especially if you have little ones who need more time without feeling rushed. Here are a few updates and critiques that didnāt make it into my video: Customer of Size (COS) Policy: On a positive note, Southwest heard the feedback! They are transitioning back to a version of their original Customer of Size policy (Huge win! š). Spreading out on more empty flights: We had full flights going both ways and the gate agents did ask us all to sit in our assigned seats. I have heard from other flights it depends on weight and balance and flight crew if they allow you to spread out! Family Seating Policy: We donāt have kids, but keep this in mind: if you buy a Basic fare with kids under 12, you arenāt guaranteed to sit together if seats arenāt available at check-in. Unlike other major airlines that lock this in at booking, Southwest still risks separating families on Basic tickets. To be safe book Choice seats. Have you flown Southwest recently? How are you handling these wild airfare price hikes for your travel planning this year? Let me know in the comments! š #SouthwestAirlines #TravelReview #FlightReview Airlines
