getlostwithliam — Castlepoint

This might just be the most underrated region in New Zealand 🌊 Share this with someone who needs an epic weekend road trip escape to the Wairarapa! ⚠️ Almost all of these locations are accessible only by gravel or off-road tracks. AWD is not essential but definitely handy! I was driving the new Subaru Outback from @subaru_nz and it handled the rough tracks effortlessly with its symmetrical AWD and extra ground clearance ⚠️ 🌅 Castlepoint: Catch sunrise at the historic lighthouse and explore the tidal reef. 🌲 Waiohine Gorge: Walk the swing bridge suspended 40 metres above a turquoise river canyon. 🪨 Putangirua Pinnacles: Hike through towering limestone formations (Lord of the Rings fans will recognise the Paths of the Dead). 🦭 Matakitaki-a-Kupe Reserve: Spot New Zealand fur seals lounging right along the rocky coastline. 🗼 Cape Palliser Lighthouse: Conquer the 252 wooden steps for sweeping ocean views. Follow @getlostwithliam for more hidden road trip routes 🌿 and thanks again to @nicoandsina for the help filming this one!
