Missed cherry blossoms in Seoul? This is your second chance. Gakwonsa Temple in Cheonan usually peaks about a week later than Seoul, so it is perfect for anyone who arrived a little late or simply wants one more spring stop. What makes this place stand out is not just the timing, but the variety. You can see different kinds of cherry blossoms in one visit, including King Cherry blossoms, fluffy double cherry blossoms, and the rare Hongpung variety with its cascading shape and rich pink color. It also feels more impressive than a standard blossom walk. The temple sits against the mountain, the architecture gives the whole place more depth, and the giant bronze Buddha adds a dramatic backdrop that most cherry blossom spots simply do not have. The seated Buddha is about 15 meters high and is one of the temple’s best-known landmarks. How to go from Seoul: take a train to Cheonan Station, then bus 24 from Cheonan Station Dongbu Plaza and get off near Gakwonsa, followed by a short uphill walk. A taxi from Cheonan Station is the easier option if you want to save time. Gakwonsa Temple is open 24 hours, open year-round, and the official address is 245 Gagwonsa-gil, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. Location: Gakwonsa Temple, 245 Gagwonsa-gil, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do Hours: Open 24 hours Comment TEMPLE and I will send you the exact dates to visit. #GakwonsaTemple #CheonanCherryBlossoms #KoreaSpring #CherryBlossomsKorea #DayTripFromSeoul
