Spooky rumor is: there are still a few bones buried here ππ» in Dolores Park. Though you may know it a popular party spot on sunny weekends, did you know in the 1800s it was the spot of two Jewish cemeteries? πͺ¦ In fact, this park has had quite a storied past. It was originally inhabited by the Ohlone tribe, who lived on this land for centuries before the arrival of settlers. Later, it served as a refuge for earthquake survivors after the devastating 1906 earthquake (the Golden Fire hydrant, one of the few that worked in the city that day and saved many structures in this neighborhood, is just across from the upper corner of the park).
