LOCATION ⬇️ Save this post for your next South Island adventure 🏔️📍 This was my first time visiting Earnslaw Burn, and I was completely blown away... No words can accurately describe this place. 📍 Earnslaw Burn Track, Glenorchy (~1.5hr from Queenstown) 🗓️ Best from November to April when river levels are lower and the valley isn’t buried in snow. 🚗 The trailhead is about 20 mins from Glenorchy. The last section of road is gravel. ⚠️ It’s an out-and-back 27 km hike (8–10 hrs return, or longer depending how well you handle the constant fallen trees and roots) best suited as an epic overnighter if you camp near the glacier. Just remember you can only camp at the edge of the forest, as beyond here is private land where camping is prohibited.
