: Started off thinking this would be an easy hike… until that first mile steep climb on a 450-foot hill humbled us real quick! We did the East Shore Trail in Del Valle Regional park in Livermore — and here’s everything you need to know: 🅿️ FREE Parking is available but very limited near the trailhead. ‼️ The trail starts off very steep, but it levels out into gentle rolling hills with stunning lake views most of the way. ☀️ No shade, so it’s best to go early morning, late evening, or on a cloudy day 💧Bring plenty of water — the incline plus direct sun can really wear you out. 🔁 Total distance: ~4.7 miles out and back It’s a beautiful, peaceful trail that gives you that “away from it all” feeling just a short drive from the Bay. It has a very famous bench under the oak tree with spectacular views! Would totally do it again — just with more water next time! Follow @rapunzelexplores for more hidden trails, local escapes, and scenic spots around the Bay Area! Save this for your next outdoor weekend plan and tag a hiking buddy!
