getlostwithliam — Franz Josef Glacier

This might just be one of the most disappointing viewpoints in New Zealand... The view of Franz Josef Glacier from the valley floor on the West Coast of New Zealand's South Island was once a world-class destination. But now, in just a short couple of decades, the glacier has all but vanished. It is now only accessible by helicopter. The irony is that climate change is driving this glacier to extinction. For a better view, try the hikes to Alex Knob or Robert's Point. Their angles are still stunning!
