📍 Kyoto Machiya Collection ZENIYACHO @kyoto_machiyas "A time not ruled by time." This machiya quietly reminded me what those words could mean. Perhaps we've become so good at making time that we've forgotten the value of slowing its rhythm. During this stay, I had the pleasure of experiencing ZENIYACHO's SHU suite by Kyoto Machiya Collection. Located in Kyoto's Gojo district, this private machiya beautifully preserves the character of traditional Kyoto architecture while offering a luxurious modern stay, complete with a private Japanese bath. Inspired by the culture of the Japanese public bathhouse, ZENIYACHO invites guests to experience the beauty of Japanese traditions with both body and mind. Soaking in warm water became more than a routine—it gently placed a pause in the rhythm of everyday life. Rather than a place to simply visit Kyoto's famous sights, it is a place to experience the quiet luxury of living in Kyoto, even if only for a little while. _ ◽︎Information ・Location: 258 Zeniyacho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto, 600-8303, just north of Higashi-Hongan-ji Temple ・Nearest Station: About a 4–5 minute walk from Gojo Station (Karasuma Subway Line) ・Access: Approximately 13–15 minutes on foot from Kyoto Station ・Check-in: There is no front desk.
