For centuries, it has been said that a rabbit lives in the full moon, pounding rice cakes. Because of this story, many famous wagashi shops release beautiful rabbit-themed sweets at this time of year. I went to Tsuruya Yoshinobu, one of Kyoto’s most prestigious long-established shops, to enjoy their rabbit-shaped fresh wagashi. It was truly adorable.
