For centuries, it has been said that a rabbit lives in the full moon, pounding rice cakes. Because of this story, many famous wagashi shops release beautiful rabbit-themed sweets at this time of year. I went to Tsuruya Yoshinobu, one of Kyoto’s most prestigious long-established shops, to enjoy their rabbit-shaped fresh wagashi. It was truly adorable. At Tsuruya Yoshinobu Imadegawa Honten, you can also experience a special course where artisans make fresh wagashi right in front of you, which I highly recommend. 🗺️Address Imadegawa dori, Horikawa Nishi iru, Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto 602 8434, Japan. 🚃Access ⚪︎By train Imadegawa Station on the Karasuma Line.
