Working on “Cherry Blossoms” piece for solo exhibition at @koik_contemporary_ Mexico government imported Jacaranda instead of cherry blossom because CDMX doesn’t get cold enough for cherry blossom to fully bloom. So they brought in violet color (Jacaranda) instead of pink (Cherry Blossom). In Seoul, there are so many cherry blossom trees. And it blooms at the same time as Jacaranda does in CDMX (March-April). It’s very poetic to paint “Cherry Blossom” in Mexico City, when it’s full of Jacaranda blossom.
