My coeliac story ↓🌾 🧡 May is Coeliac Awareness Month, so I wanted to share my story in case it helps someone else recognise symptoms or feel a little less alone navigating diagnosis. 🏥 I was diagnosed with coeliac disease at 21 years old after years of symptoms including: • Severe stomach cramps • Extreme fatigue • Weight loss • Digestive issues 📊 Looking back, I was actually one of the lucky ones. Research from @coeliacuk shows the average diagnosis takes around 13 years. ❤️🩹 At the time, I didn’t even know what coeliac disease was. I remember standing in the gluten free aisle at the supermarket and bursting into tears because the whole diagnosis felt SO overwhelming and isolating. 🌍 One of the reasons I started this page was because I wanted to show that being gluten free does NOT mean life stops. Since being diagnosed, I’ve travelled to amazing places, discovered incredible gluten free food, and built the most supportive online community through sharing my journey. ⚠️ Around 1 in 100 people have coeliac disease, yet SO many people are still undiagnosed. 🩺 If symptoms like stomach pain, bloating, diarrhoea, fatigue or brain fog feel familiar, please don’t ignore them.
