Three sheets of glass, 15 m long and 2 m wide, reaching out over the Namhangang. The Mancheonha Skywalk is a 25 m tower built on a clifftop that already stands 80 to 90 m above the river. Danyang Tourism Corporation puts the total drop underfoot at about 100 m. The observatory is horseshoe shaped, with three glass fingers cantilevered off the rim in triple laminated high strength glass, and you reach the top by walking a spiral wooden ramp rather than stairs. The grade is gentle enough for a wheelchair or a stroller. The peak, and the deck at the top of it, is Manhakcheonbong. Ten thousand valleys and a thousand peaks. Mancheonha is a contraction of it, and a pun on everything under heaven. There is no walking route up. You ride a shuttle bus, included in the ticket, or pay 3,000 won for the monorail, which means the last thing between you and the drop is a bus ride up a mountain. Since opening in July 2017 it has drawn more than 4.5 million visitors as of late 2023, and it remains the most-ticketed attraction in North Chungcheong. It has made Korea Tourism 100 Select four editions running, including 2025 to 2026. Adults 4,000 won. Open 09:00, closing 18:00 in summer and 17:00 in winter, with ticketing an hour earlier. The observatory runs daily, but the zipwire, alpine coaster, slide and monorail close Tuesdays. Peak season waits can pass an hour, and heavy rain, snow or fog can close the view entirely. Go early.
