No amount of money is worth destroying this 🌲🏞️ On Thursday, the government announced they will be removing parts of the Conservation Amendment Bill that would have allowed up to 60% of our public lands to be sold or exchanged. That sounds like a victory, but it’s not enough. The remaining clauses still change the purpose of @docgovtnz from protecting nature to prioritising economic development “to the greatest extent practicable...” We want full protections for our conservation land and won’t stop fighting until the whole bill is in the bin 🚮 Public submissions close on 2 July!!! ⬇️ Comment “BILL” and I’ll send you: ✍️ A link to oppose the bill (it takes about 6 minutes) 🗺️ The maps showing which conservation areas could be affected 🌲 Resources that explain the bill and what’s being proposed Once this land is gone, we will never get it back.
