Actually those tips help in every country you travel without knowing it’s language: ♥️ Use a Translator - Papago will be your best friend, especially the convo & photo function ♥️ Get Visual - Show Pictures, point on the menu, use body language ♥️ Look twice - often my brain is overwhelmed with all the new signs and impressions that it overlooks English signs. So look twice! ♥️ Keep it simple - Koreans KNOW english better than you might think.. but many of them struggle with speaking and listening as their language learning system focuses on reading, writing and memorizing. So speak slow and use simple words when speaking English ♥️ Invest in a Real Time Translator Device - I got the @timekettletech WT2 Edge and loved it ♥️ Use “Konglish“ - pronouncing English words in the Korean syllable structure helps a lot especially when speaking to elders (“sprite” becomes “Seu-Peu-Rai-Teu” for example) ♥️ Study a bit - the alphabet (Hangeul) already helps a loooot and is easier than you might think. And saying hello and thank you in Korean will bring you some more plus points and smiles too! ♥️ Prepare important sentences - especially recommended for allergies or other things you can plan in advance ♥️ Basic, but still important: be friendly! - I often see people getting angry when there is no English speaking staff. That’s not gonna help you ;) #korea #language #seoul #koreatrip #southkorea #koreanlanguage #studykorean #travel #seoultrip #koreatravel #travelguide #traveltip
