My favorite hike in Rocky Mountain National Park … Sky Pond is often touted as one of the best hikes in RMNP, and while that’s definitely true, we actually preferred Chasm Lake! The hike up felt like walking through a Lord of the Rings movie, and the lake itself was breathtaking. Highly recommend adding this to your RMNP bucket list! 🥾 Chasm Lake - 8.8 miles, 2,500 ft of elevation gain ❄️ This hike can be snowy even in the summer if you go early in the season, so make sure you’re prepared with microspikes and poles. 🎟️ A permit is needed to enter this section of the park after 9 AM from May 26th - October 22nd. 🎒 Make sure you pack layers, as it can get cold at the top! 🏔️ Be sure to download maps, as this trail starts along the path to Longs Peak (a notoriously difficult 14er), and you don’t want to end up on the wrong trail at the cut off point! #hikingadventures #hikingculture #hikingviews #hikersofinstagram #hikinglife #rockymountains #rockymountainnationalpark #hikelovers
