wheresjessieb — The Marshall Store

Tired of winery day trips from The Bay? Do this instead. If you’re looking for an easy, food-focused day trip, I love this North Bay itinerary which highlights a variety of local specialities. Much of the drive is also really beautiful, with views of Tomales Bay, farmland, and rolling hills outside Petaluma. Plus: the distances are reasonable enough to do this all in one day. But, you could also totally turn this into an overnight with a stay in Tomales Bay or Petaluma area. Here’s the itinerary: STOP 1: @tenfoldfarmstand ✦ Distance: ~1 hour north of San Francisco ✦ Stop for: Produce, baked goods, and snacks, including locally made duck fat popcorn ✦ No reservations needed, it’s a farm stand 😊 STOP 2: @mcevoyranch ✦ Distance: 5 minutes from Tenfold Farmstand ✦ Stop for: Olive oil, cheese, beauty products, and wine flights ✦ Reservations: recommended on weekends, walk-ins welcome STOP 3: @hogislandoysterco ✦ Distance: 30 minutes from McEvoy Ranch ✦ Stop for: Raw, BBQ, and preserved oysters ✦ Reservations: recommended on weekends, it gets busy. But Thursdays are walk-in only “shuck your own oysters” day ✦ Tip: If it’s packed, Tony’s (same owners) or Marshall Store (different owners) down the road are excellent backups ⭐ Share this with someone who would enjoy this trip! 👉 Follow @wheresjessieb for more travel and day trips ideas from San Francisco. #tomalesbay #norcalfoodie #visitcalifornia #jessiebintomalesbay
