A trek through the Dog Teeth 🦷⛰️ in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 OUR ROUTE: Big Buddha ➡️ Wisdom Path ➡️ West Dog Teeth ➡️ Middle Dog Teeth ➡️ Shek Pik Country Trail ➡️ Shek Pik Reservoir The journey begins at the Tian Tan Buddha, but the true start is the Wisdom Path, where towering wooden pillars offer a moment of Zen before the verticality begins. Entering the trail toward West Dog Teeth, the terrain quickly transitions from shaded forest to exposed rock. This ridge is the steepest of the three “Dog Teeth” paths. As you scramble upward, the trail earns its name; the jagged rock formations resemble the uneven molars of a canine. The physical demand is high, requiring hands-on scrambling over weathered stone. The descent via Middle Dog Teeth requires as much focus as the climb. While slightly less vertical than its western counterpart, it is notorious for loose gravel and steep drops on either side. As the ridge tapers down, the landscape softens. The sharp rocks give way to tall grass and eventually the shaded canopy of the Shek Pik Country Trail. The final stretch toward the reservoir is a gentle cooldown, allowing the adrenaline to fade into a deep sense of accomplishment. #hongkong #hikinghongkong #westdogteeth
