Save this one for later or send it to a mate planning a North Island roadie 🏕️ When I first heard about a beach you can only access through a tunnel carved by hand, I knew I had to see it for myself. 📍 Waikawau Tunnel Beach, Waikato, NZ 📅 Best visited at low tide so you can explore the full stretch of beach safely. 🛻 Located on the remote Waikato coast between Marokopa and Awakino. The road in is gravel for the last stretch, so take it slow, but 2WDs can make it! Parking is at the entrance to the tunnel and it’s just a short walk from there. Oh and dogs are allowed!!
