Ever seen the Milky Way underground? 🌌 Share this with someone who needs to see it! Glow worms are New Zealand’s underground stars, and witnessing them in their natural habitat is an incredible experience. While Waitomo Caves are well-known, there are also less-commercial and untouched caves where you can see them in their natural state. I recently explored one of these caves, and it was truly amazing. Did you know? 🌟 The Māori name for glow worms is titiwai, meaning “lights reflected in water.” 🕷️ Their scientific name is Arachnocampa luminosa, which means “bright spider-worm.” 🇳🇿 New Zealand is home to a unique species found nowhere else in the world. 📍 Limestone Creek Reserve, Manawatū (note: only attempt the drive if you’re comfortable with winding, gravel roads).
