How safe I felt as a solo traveller woman โ๏ธ๐๐ป ๐น๐ญ Thailand is honestly the country where I felt the safest so far in South East Asia. Almost never felt uncomfortable. ๐ฐ๐ญ Felt safe here too. One instance, when I was in a sleeping bus and in the middle of nowhere I noticed some men watching me in not the best way but apart from that, I felt relaxed. ๐ป๐ณ In Vietnam men look quite a bit and often comment, but generally I do feel safe, even at night. ๐ฎ๐ฉ I have only been to Bali so I can only speak for that, but with the amount of people that there are in Bali nowadays, I have sometimes felt not safe. Nothing major happened though. ๐ฌ๐ง I have lived and travelled in the UK for almost 7 years and I can say that I have felt uncomfortable and not safe many times. Especially with the knives crimes going on, I never felt 100% safe. ๐ช๐ธ I have travelled alone to Barcelona and Madrid and I felt comfortable going out during the night and people were also super nice to me. (I speak Spanish so that might play a role too). ๐ต๐น I did feel safe at all. I travelled solo to Porto in 2020 and the amount of things I have seen in only a few days shocked me. I have been harassed and catcalled multiple times. I definitely didnโt feel safe to go out at night. ๐ฎ๐น As much as I love my country, I do not feel safe there when I am by myself. I have experienced lots of harassment and catcalling in my cities in Italy and I often donโt feel safe there.
