Kayaking in Hong Kong this summer? 🇭🇰🛶🌊☀️ Welcome to Green Egg Island (Lan Pai / 爛排). A tiny, uninhabited landform nestled along the rugged coast of Clear Water Bay in Sai Kung. In recent years, it has exploded in popularity to become one of Hong Kong’s ultimate summer destinations, celebrated for its unique shape and unusually pristine water conditions. ROUTES: 1. Sheung Sze Wan is the most popular and direct launching point for visiting Green Egg Island. Estimated Paddle Time. ➡️Calm Conditions / Regular Pace: 20 to 30 minutes one way. ➡️Leisurely/Beginner Pace: 35 to 45 minutes one way. 2. Po Toi O to Green Egg Island is roughly 3.5 to 4 kilometers (about 2 to 2.5 miles) one way. Estimated Paddle Time: ➡️Calm Conditions / Experienced Paddler: 45 to 60 minutes one way. ➡️Choppy Waters / Casual Pace: 1.5 to 2 hours one way. ⚠️A Quick Reminder Even though it’s a quick trip, you are still paddling into an open water bay.
