A few things: - These aren’t my plates. I was waiting for someone and was lucky enough to have a pigeon show. - Pigeons are unsung heroes, not “rats with wings” as I’ve heard them called. Read about their history and you’ll feel for them. - In Korea, we usually clear plates after we’re done at cafes. I’m not saying this is why… but this could be one reason why. - If you sit still long enough in Seoul, something unexpected will always wander into the frame. - FYI you can be fined up to 1 million KRW for feeding pigeons in 38 designated “No Wildlife Feeding Zones” in Seoul including urban parks, national infrastructure areas and cultural heritage sites, as well as popular areas like Han River parks. Anyway, this was how my day started in Seoul.
