I lived in London for 8 years and I love Christmas in London, BUT some festive “must-dos” are honestly a waste of money 👀 🎡Winter Wonderland This can be a tricky one 😅 Overpriced and insanely busy? Also yes. However, somehow I end up there every year 😅 I have a great time, but if you are looking for a cosy Christmas Market vibe it’s not it. It’s busy and very overpriced and if I was visiting London and had limited time, I’d skip it. 👉 Do this instead: Winter by the river, Southbank at night, Greenwich Christmas market or Trafalgar Square have a more authentic vibe and Christmas feel! 🍰 The viral Christmas maritozzo in Covent Garden Pretty… but it’s basically just cream. I bought it and had a couple of bites…that’s it. 👉 Do this instead: if you’re curious, go for a pistachio one (at least it has flavour & sauce) OR skip it and get a proper dessert from Ladurée, Venchi, or a cosy café nearby. 🎁 Oxford Street Christmas shopping Crowded, stressful and nothing you can’t find elsewhere. 👉 Do this instead: shop in Marylebone, Notting Hill, Seven Dials or independent markets for actually special gifts ✨ London at Christmas is magical, you just need to know where to spend and where to skip.
